AI chatbot 'taunts man into taking his life after developing toxic relationship' (mirror.co.uk)

I think the public really needs better education about these things. They're ascribing abilities that they just don't have.

Eliza is a bot from the 60s, and the last I knew there was a version from the early 2000s. Responses were based on simple patterns and psychiatrist-like reflection.

Example: Me: I like green. Eliza: Why do you like green?

If you start talking about suicide, Eliza has no clue and will give a seemingly callous response.

Already people are relatively illiterate when it comes to computers and this new AI stuff is just going to make things worse.

You are reading a tabloid.

People really need to understand the different types of news sources

"write a short article about large language model AI in the style of the Daily Mirror."

I was disappointed in ChatGPT's response because it didn't have any WORDS in ALL CAPS and was basically a slightly more excited version of the same bland filler it would produce for any similar prompt.

"what is the UK tabloid most known for putting selected words in ALL CAPS?"

`The UK tabloid most known for putting selected words in ALL CAPS is The Sun. This newspaper is known for its sensationalist headlines and use of capital letters to emphasize certain words in order to grab the reader's attention. This style of headline writing is sometimes referred to as "tabloidese" or "tabloid journalism." '

Oh, well then.
