Do you have a single Google contact with both emails, or two contacts, one for each? Just curious to see if that might make a difference.

No I can confirm that it's not taking contacts into account. I think it's because it's non-trivial to come up with a UI for picking the email to send the invite to.

You could send it to the address you've sent/received from most recently. Or prioritize on gmails, since those are already Google accounts
