The difference is the ease-of-use, and the ability for non-technical folks to pick it up really quickly and get started with sharing files with the people they care about in a few minutes. Not sure if you noticed, but the current landing page is not designed with hackers in mind (we understand we're posting on HN, but technical folks are not our primary audience).
