I also think adults have fewer major book end types experiences. As a kid I can bookend every year with summers off and out of school. College was similar, but I rarely took summers off so a lot of college is melded together. As an adult, there are fewer natural bookends. Marriage, kids, new job are obvious ones, but they are not every year and not everyone has them. I try to take 2 large vacations each year to new places. Doing this has slowed time down.
Yes, had not thought of it like that before but it make sense. Similar to "a change is as good as a rest" although the summer holidays are a great rest!
