Misleading title. Herdr was able to connect to remote servers before (via `herdr --remote`). A Herdr client was either local or remote, and if you wanted to have both, you would run each one in a separate terminal tab.

Today's release brings mixing and matching local and remote sessions within one client.

What I linked is the official repo. My customization is private because I replace the original fonts with a commercial font (which I own a license) so I feel it's better not to make the repo public.

anecdotal and fwiw, Omarchy is the first distro that "stuck". I've been using it on my desktop for a year now. I use it for personal projects and light gaming via Steam. Personal MacBook is only used when I want to compute on the couch. Work computer is also a MacBook. But everything else, Omarchy desktop.

Previous attempts with Ubuntu and PopOS! never stuck.

Which is not at all how it works in practice. In a large React codebase you have state scattered throughout contexts, GraphQL caches and complex hook dependency trees.

Throw in SSR and component memoization and you really have no idea what caused a UI change to occur.

At least if the worker who competes with you is in the U.S., they have the same cost structure as you and won’t undercut you as much or at all on wage.

I’d much rather compete with an immigrant who is in the U.S. and has the same cost structure as me than we someone based in India/LATAM and will undercut me on wage 3x.
