The global economy is over $126T this year (ecommerce alone is like $7T) how can something as scary sounding as AI swarm taking over the internet cause so little damage?

I'm always confused by how lines are drawn in scenarios like this. if calling cops makes waymo culpable, why not also blame parents buying kids guns? Toy stores selling the guns? Where does the chain of events start?

Feels like the most plausible explanation of what happened is the property owners got a blight citation[1] for graffiti on some other part of the building, and either misunderstood or miscommunicated to their employee what was supposed to be removed. I don't know why everyone is jumping to either "the owners are assholes" or "the owners get to do what they want it's their property."

I think privacy conscious folks like yourself consistently overrate how much purchase this argument has. I am perfectly happy to forgo this in exchange for a sufficient increase in convenience / safety (for myself and others). This is not because I have been brainwashed by autonomous vehicle company propaganda, it is because I have different values and concerns.
I think eventually, some form of self updating llm memory will replace skills, but in the meantime it is token inefficient for the model to have to parse the entire repo from scratch every time, and skills are an imperfect way to shortcut some of that (drawbacks being the skills are sometimes wrong or outdated)
As far as I can tell it's not AI slop, but I wish this author had asked one LLM if his example is A/B testing, because the AI would've told him no, and we wouldn't have to have read this garbage.
Don't say that too loudly.. People will think you're encouraging use of AI in researching and writing articles, which is apparently a mortal sin. Certain people here would rather read a nonsense post by a human than a logical post by an AI
tbh this is how i remembered that time as well. If you look at recommended system requirements for something like Max Payne (in 2001) vs Unreal Tournament 2003, everything had basically doubled
I would argue that many companies would in fact be better off disappearing for a year, rather than constantly thrashing the company to chase the latest trend.
And judging from the ZIRP hiring sprees and tokenmaxxing, CEOs are more often the driving force behind wasteful spending than they are the safeguards against it...
