I didn't read carefully enough at the beginning of the article, and at first I thought Caleb and Issac must be two different algorithms for detecting AI in published papers. Eventually I realized they are the names of the two authors who wrote this article (with AI assistance). Anyways, I was wondering how the two of them managed to disagree? Were the papers each human flagged as concerning the same between the two humans? I should keep reading carefully, just thought I would point it out to other humans too, maybe save them from the same mistaken thought.
I have a paid (lowest grade) Google workspace account and I recently gave Gemini a copy of a text agenda and asked it to pop out slides with references for me. I got back 11 slides with nice references to all the state laws relevant to the agenda topics and some graphics it found online too corresponding to the agenda topics.
Did you not ask it from the Gemini web interface? Did you try to use the one already built into Google slides? It looks like you already had slides open and used it's magic button... I didn't I went straight to the Gemini app online.
Most of the users of phones seem to operate on the no idea what's going on model. It's on developers to meet them where they are at, and if that's the app store you better be there for them.
A teaching assistant recommended I find monthly presentations or department events to attend (can be slightly broader than just CS, think Physics dept, Electrical Engineering, Mech Engineering) and from attending those events I found a lab to hire me as an undergrad assistant.
Eventually that had me in enough contact with grad students I decided to do grad school too on the same topic as the undergrad lab assistant position. That turned into my career. I highly recommend going to small department presentations and events. Plus there is usually free food involved.

Depending on your school, ACM and IEEE student organizations often put these on as well, which can be a good opportunity for networking and getting involved in regional (and other) conferences as well.
Did you have any issues with screen orientation? I have a waveshare round display in one of my projects too, they are great looking. Mine had an issue with wire orientation where I needed to have the wire emerge from the bottom of the display, but then I needed to rotate the picture to properly handle the rotation. It was tricky to get that working smoothly.
Also the display cuts off the corners on mine. Does it do the same for you? I'm not too bothered by it but it's only good for running custom SW where it's okay to be missing the corners.
Really curious to imagine what these AI-adjacent abominations could be. Some sort of people conveyor belt we have to work on while rotating past other humans to achieve maximum 'collaboration' perhaps? Offices built into semi trucks so we get picked up and crammed together with our laptops and screens? When will it stop!

So I'd guess the 'sheep' is just a small element of AI-generated pic. With that element looking like a sheep. But why would it be called Blodwyn then? Did it ever exist as a real sheep? Did author know a sheep called Blodwyn @ some point? Was there a real sheep named Blodwyn whose photo wound up in AI model's training data?
I really appreciate you highlighting exactly how exceptionally flat Kansas is. I've never thought of a place as flat for Kansas, now I'll pay more attention when driving through it. I was already startled by how far horizons seem in Kansas.
Lots of the central-eastern portion of the state is the beautiful Flint Hills area, which is obviously… hilly. Much of I-70 (the main route across the state east-west) features long horizons but lots of low hills in the distance. The West, central, and southwestern parts have the slowly but consistently rolling, low hills of something like the film The Wind or the famous painting Christina’s World (the one with the girl on late summer or early fall green-and-tan grass, looking away from the viewer toward a white farmhouse up a low hill). They’re all much flatter than much of the country, but they’re not flat flat. They’re not Central Nevada flat.
South-central and southeastern Kansas are about that flat. Though with somewhat more trees.

[edit edit] Further, those kinds of super-long views like you mentioned are actually kind of hard to come by on the really flat parts of Kansas. You need a little elevation (for the spot you're at) to get over obstructions like bushes, trees, barns, corn, et c, and that's what delivers those impressively-long views that vanish at the horizon in other parts of the state. That's why you need to find one of the (many) very-straight rural roads in the really flat parts of KS to see the "flat all the way to the horizon" effect. Or stand on the roof of a barn or something like that.
I'm guessing since the map is price limited there are likely many more properties out west except they are higher priced? $800 for a small chunk of vacant land behind something industrial near what looks like a lonely highway exit somewhere inland California. Then the East half has lots of reasonable looking homes. I hope the people left behind and homeless are getting by.
The name is exciting to me. I've been a multiple time robot vacuum owner and it does have an appeal to be able to see a fresh build dissected like this. Why not contribute to this project instead of having a go all on my own, except of course with my AI helpers. I could pick the vacuum control board for the motors and sensors. I have some thoughts on brushes too.
It's a good point, vibe coding does lend itself to fast splitting among developers with the intent of recombining quickly too into a larger project.
