Glad it's using the Meta XR SDK - it's a closed ecosystem but at least it IS an ecosystem.

The Ray-Ban Metas had no ecosystem. No SDK, no app store, just apps made by Meta. They finally announced an SDK in 2026 but why would I support a device that was so anti-developer for years?

I'm curious what your closest analogous device with an SDK is so I can understand how you're viewing the product.

I see Ray-Ban Metas as basically fancy airpods with a camera. Airpods don't have an SDK, or an app store. Nor would it make sense to have one. So it doesn't rub me the wrong way.

What kind of SDK would you like to see? Are you wanting them to be more like an Alexa, and expect an Alexa style SDK/marketplace with custom integrations?

For some things you don't need software anymore. You just need Claude/Codex to have the right tools. For example I do video recording/editing using my free Claude plugin:

There's a big difference between 'trivial' and producing hundreds of infographics in a day without supervision for a few dollars.

I do the opposite. I have a Slack bot that communicates with an app on my Mac mini that dispatches agents for tasks. It knows all my projects and also has a scheduler that uses the Herdr API. That way I can have things running on my Claude/Codex subs at home 24/7.

Setting up all my code, environment, context, etc in the cloud on VMs seemed like a lot so instead I send back tasks to my Mac mini(s) that are running at home.

Herdr has an API btw - I am using it to build my own agent orchestrator.

I setup a Telegram bot that relays messages to the agent orchestrator that then decides "this agent needs this plugin, this working directory for context" etc to relay the work I asked. I guess it's similar to the God orchestrator.

For pure coding tasks I just want a TUI, but for non-coding work (marketing, content gen, research) an orchestrator has been great.

My previous SaaS used Stripe and I'm in the same position where I want to switch to MoR. Was going to go with Polar for payments and Dub.co for affiliates.

Not surprised - I live in IL and almost every SaaS I pay an extra "15% Chicago Lease Tax". Politicians hate tech here.
