You need agents.md and similar for indications about stuff that is not in the code itself. There are plenty of use cases for that, the alternative is have the LLM guess the most probable solution, which may be correct but may also be wrong.

No I don't get it at all. But I think a lot of people are prompting LLMs then publishing their outputs these days. They need to jump on the hype train before it leaves the station. See any recently created "AI ethics" group/institute/startup/whatever. It's basically just this meme on repeat:

Compared to some available Chinese model I guess. For most common tasks the additional intelligence is marginal and the cost is around an order of magnitude higher.

Also, as you mention, I hate that you can't paste on a different program given the fact that the clipboard is untouched when you press ctrl-x

The Excel workflow is surprising from the viewpoint of consistency with the OS but works pretty well for Excel users. Cut, paste multiple times, enter for the last one. I notice the multiple paste doesn't work on Excel on the Web.

The clipboard is very weak in Excel. If I copy something, update a cell somewhere and then paste elsewhere, the clipboard vanishes and I need to copy all over again.

But excel cells are not simply text: it is a different format, I don't have specific existing behavior for that.

I believe this is the key difference, because it doesn't make sense to learn such a complicated tool for a simple use case.

If you already know it sure, it may make sense. But you are removing a huge initial effort required otherwise.

I learned it for this setup. I do zero devops at work, there's a separate team that handles that (and even then, they're not on kubernetes).

I learned it because it seemed like the right way to do things and fun. Cut myself a few times in the earliest days having no clue, but no regrets.
