LLM article written by a company selling “Secure-by-default open source software”

I think it’s satire

EDIT: relevant https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47944499

FYI this is an LLM comment, and other replies point out inaccuracies…

One country (Greece) with an ineffective law will have negligible impact on the entire internet. Are there popular Greek-only social medias?

More generally, many people spew toxicity under the real name. And there’s already nothing stopping a social media from only allowing verified users.

Hate speech and libel laws have already been misused against people who didn’t actually “hate” or lie. Even if Western democracies are falling, this could make them fall faster, so IMO we should try better ideas first.

Yes but for Greeks it will have an impact and we can determine if it’s beneficial.

We already know the answer.. it's totalitarian bullshit and/or sheer incompetency to make motion appear like progress.

We don't need to "try" botulism either.

How do we know that? Honest question. Anonymity is just not a feature of normal political or civil life in most countries. In fact it can often be contrary to civility. I don't see why removing Anonymity and preventing foreign meddling in ones country is a bad thing.

One measure is the ability to find an optimal solution among many options. From solving an integration problem (option = equation, optimal = correct) to life (option = life choice, optimal = best QOL).

Statistically, an LLM finds a better optimal solution than one individual. But LLM solutions are more similar to each other than individuals’, so among many individuals, a few find a better optimal solution than the LLMs.

Hence why I think we need AI that responds more uniquely. Whether that be fine-tuned local models, one LLM that’s more influenced by its prompt and well-supports extremely long prompts, AI tools for humans, or something else. I’d love to see a local AI with continuous learning that generates complex UX to better interact with the user (more than prompts), but that may be far-fetched…

Free upgrades sound reasonable to me. Especially if obesity becomes less common via GLP-1s.

How would we be better off?

The greediest bastards with undue influece wouldn't have a say.

They’d still act, just not explain…

Still an improvement, any explanation is a lie anyway!

You’re probably “asocial”

Asocial = avoids people, quiet, misses social cues. i.e. doesn’t attract people

Antisocial = cruel, obnoxious, remorseless. i.e. actively repels people

Sociopaths don't actively repel people. In fact, they're quite good at attracting them.

Psychopaths are calculated, charming, and organized, often blending seamlessly into society. Whereas sociopaths tend to be erratic, impulsive, and prone to outbursts and aggressive and reckless behavior.

Psychopaths, I would say, are "quite good" at attracting people, by knowing exactly what to say. Sociopaths may sometimes attract people unintentionally, just by virtue of their impulsive personalities sometimes causing them to be "fun" to be around.

In both cases though, people who know them well tend to be repelled by their lack of regard for the needs and feelings of others.
